“THIS IS HOW WE WIN!” rejoiced the governmental poster on the commander’s wall, the sly slogan written across a bomb.
But if this is winning why was she losing?
The day/night pounding across the border left her in permanent vibration; shivering, quivering.
“P-Please s-stop,” she whisper-shouted shattering in her lifemare. “I-I c-can’t breathe.”
When told the way it is was the only way, she mourned: “Th-then th-there’s n-no way at-t all.”
She left in need of a dream refused by her planet.
