Threads: For The Birds

Hello. My name is Eddie. How are you? Someone tied an anvil to me and threw my body in the East River.

If it seems I suddenly disappeared from your life, know it's me, not you.

Let's just say some poor decision-making - and a Flock camera - caught up with me.

I don't excuse what the monsters did to me - unbeknownst to them, they share my fate - but I'd been safe had I made a home.

It's the lowest worm who sees the world's underbelly. There's a reason they kill to hide it - and it's not love.

Threads: Nowhere Else Man

Our corporation sold out to Port Dogs to move us off shore - literally. I and the others start wading into the sea until having to tread water to stay afloat.

In celebration we throw around a football and sing Pink Floyd songs. But I'm thinking, "How long can I keep this up? Everyone else is smiling. Am I the only one struggling?"

I mean, can everyone else tread water indefinitely except me? Or has mass insanity taken over? We each pretend to be happy.

Worst part is, I've no place else to go.

Threads: 30 Years In The Wilderness

A world renowned psychic told me as a kid I'd one day buy a new Aston Martin, my dream car. It was said she's never wrong!

That very day I started saving so I could get the car as soon as possible. But then years passed and no matter how much I saved I could barely even afford the down payment - much less the sky high cost of ownership.

I lived like a dog in horrible apartments, drove old cars, but I stuck to my guns, insisting the psychic was right. Over time, though, I stopped referring to the prediction, feeling more the fool; it became indefensible.

Yet, regardless of any condemnation I might receive from the world, I clung to my belief until the bitter end.

Then, after three decades, I gave up and decided to just do what I want.

That's when I wrote a best selling book and got my Aston Martin.
