There are only two things you can do in life: what you're put here for - or not.
I'm in the "not" category. In order to maintain an illusion of morality, I punish myself for this - as if doing what makes me want to slit my wrists is not enough.
I could make my job life easier but I don't dare. That would be like accepting defeat.
The irony, though, is if I were not already defeated, I wouldn't be punishing myself as a substitute for success.
The worst deeds are done by those with no purpose.
