My final pull under
To the cold drowning dark;
"What was it all for
"Both my bite and my bark?"
Across the great globe
Who's alone more than I?
With water for air
To muffle my cry.
My soul reaches out
To the love of my life;
But anger wrought tears
With loneliness rife.
Is this how the earth ends,
By uncontrollable sea?
Without say and without will
Nature sends us to lee.
The dreams I misspoke
Render my nameless Name;
To thus face my Maker
Wearing fool's naked shame.
To the cold drowning dark;
"What was it all for
"Both my bite and my bark?"
Across the great globe
Who's alone more than I?
With water for air
To muffle my cry.
My soul reaches out
To the love of my life;
But anger wrought tears
With loneliness rife.
Is this how the earth ends,
By uncontrollable sea?
Without say and without will
Nature sends us to lee.
The dreams I misspoke
Render my nameless Name;
To thus face my Maker
Wearing fool's naked shame.
