The man was screaming through his jail cell window bars watching the villagers depart the flood plain. Ironically, the man was in jail for denying the floods were coming.
“How can you leave me here to drown and die?”
The few who paid attention to him laughed in disdain.
“See? It’s YOU who are the bad guys, not ME!”
But the inconvenient fact the man left out was his cell door had already been removed.
