So the Guardian did an article proposing to reboot Bond as a period piece since he is - as I've said - of a time. I discarded that idea because Bond Films were also hip to the times in which they were made.
I blogged "RIP Mr. Bond" when Craig reboot happened as that had nothing to do with Fleming's Bond. But it did reflect the downward spiral that marks the 21st century.
There are no "sides" to fight for anymore. Countries are rushing into nationalistic dictatorships. Who wants to save that?
